About Us
Wynnum 60 and Better Programme Inc. is a seniors’ association which began in 1994 as a Queensland Health Department initiative, designed to keep seniors active, healthy and connected for as long as possible. Wynnum 60 and Better Programme Inc. was incorporated in 1999 and is currently funded by the Queensland Department of Seniors, Disability Services and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships. Our funding provides for a paid Programme Manager and office running costs. We have an elected/volunteer member Committee which oversees the strategic direction and fiscal management of the organisation.
We offer a range of activities which promote a healthy, active and informed lifestyle for seniors in the Wynnum/Manly district. Our activities include, Chair and Floor Yoga, Fitness at Manly pool, Gentle Exercise, Themed walks, International Women’s Week and Seniors week events, Cinema morning teas, Concerts and themed High Teas, Bridge and Mah Jong games in our Tea Room. Membership is $7 per annum and members receive our monthly Newsletter detailing our events. Our classes range from $7-$10 each.
Wynnum 60 and Better Programme Inc. carries $20 million in Public Liability insurance and complies with Human Service Quality standards in accordance with our Service Contract. Wynnum 60 and Better is also a registered charity.
